Our 6-night, 7-day Tawang adventure begins in Guwahati, Assam’s capital and the gateway to the northeast, located on the Brahmaputra’s southern banks. From here, we make our way to Bhalukpong, a quaint town on the Assam-Arunachal border, where captivating hills and the picturesque Kameng River Valley create a tranquil setting.

Our next stop is Dirang, a charming village in West Kameng district, perched at 4,900 feet along the Jia Bharali River. Here, stroll through peaceful villages and embrace the serene landscape.

Moving forward, we reach Sangestar Tso (PTSO Lake), one of India’s highest-altitude lakes at a breathtaking 15,200 feet. This high-altitude lake, en route from Tawang to Bumla Pass, offers an unparalleled experience amid snow-capped mountains and alpine vistas.

The journey continues to Tawang, situated at 10,000 feet, where you’ll witness the grandeur of Tawang Monastery, the largest in India. Embrace the mystical aura of this ancient structure and enjoy scenic routes, including a stop at the Kiwi Gardens. Our adventure then leads us to Bomdila, a small yet culturally vibrant town famous for the Bomdila Monastery, offering panoramic views over Bomdila town and lush surroundings.

The best time to explore Arunachal Pradesh is during the spring and summer (April to June) when the valleys bloom with wildflowers, and temperatures are ideal. For winter enthusiasts, October to February brings a blanket of snow over the landscape, creating a magical Himalayan setting.
